Investors in People Standard renewed with flying colours!

May 17th, 2011

IIP logoWe were delighted that the IiP Standard was renewed in April 2011. Congratulations to all concerned!

In the words of our assessor on the day:

‘Not only were the core requirements of the Standard met, but also the additional six evidence requirements selected from the wider framework in relation to social responsibility.

The whole organisation could be held up as a good practice model of an Investor in People and senior managers have agreed they would be happy to be contacted as a potential case study’.

NHYC young people contribute their artistic designs for the new medical centre being built beside the British Library at Kings Cross. This art work will form part of a mural which is going around the outside of the site whilst it is being built. Young people’s art work will be enlarged to over 6ft high and wide and will have their names on the mural. A big thank you to St. Pancras Community Centre who organised the workshop.

World TB

April 19th, 2011

TB WorldThe Mobile TB X-ray team, on March 24th, presented a DVD video of people’s experiences of Tuberculosis, which revealed that TB can affect anybody of any age at any time.  People who are vulnerable are those with immune problems, those sleeping rough, and people with drug and alcohol issues. Godgive our nurse did a quiz with young people to help them become more aware of the symptoms and to seek help in time.

Interview Techniques Workshop run by Buzzacott Accountancy Firm

April 19th, 2011

BuzzacotWe welcome external organisations and agencies who would benefit our young people. On March 22nd, the accountancy firm Buzzacott ran a very successful workshop on interview techniques where fourteen young people gained valuable skills on presenting themselves at work, communication skills and body language. Young people said “it really benefitted me because I found out how to research companies properly”. Another young person said “the training was delivered very well and it was good to have new ideas”.
